Martha Sellers

Martha brings two decades of experience working in portfolio analysis, quantitative research and regulatory compliance to CreditThoughts clients. 

Martha worked in Research and Bank Supervision at the Federal Reserve in the 1980’s when regulators were searching for ways to identify and differentiate riskier banks. 

Working with KMV’s leadership team and its pioneering clients beginning in 1996, Martha forged an practical understanding of what it takes to change the way an institution understands and manages risk -- learning from those who profoundly changed their risk culture, as well as those who could not.

Brian Ranson

Brian founded CreditThoughts to bring clients frank, focused insight from his experience in Treasury, Portfolio Management, and as advisor to senior management at financial institutions in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Brian left Treasury to launch Credit Portfolio Management at the Bank of Montreal because he was convinced that the portfolio risk profile  was could deliver or destroy shareholder value.  Brian has shared his views in many articles as well as an approachable guide to quantitative issues, Credit Portfolio Management.

As head of Credit Strategy at Moody’s KMV, he brought insight on practical and effective risk management to a global audience of banks, insurance companies and large corporations.
